What is the legal status of CBD in Mississippi?
In 2014, then Governor Phil Bryant signed Mississippi HB 1231 into law. Known as Harper’s Grace Law, the bill allows the use of low-THC cannabis oil, only for those with intractable epileptic syndromes.
According to HB 1231, the National Center for Natural Products Research at the University of Mississippi is the only entity permitted to produce cannabis-derived oil from the resin of cannabis plants. This center is the only facility in the nation that has been federally permitted to grow cannabis plants for the better part of the last two decades.
Furthermore, the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Department of Pharmacy Services, is the only body legally permitted to dispense the oil.
Although the law was first signed in 2014, as of Use of any cannabis products is in oil with at least 15% CBD content by weight, and no more than 0.5% THC by weight. Qualifying patients with epileptic conditions must obtain their CBD-dominant cannabis oil from the University of Mississippi. No other patients or conditions are protected under Mississippi law.
In 2017, after nearly 3 years of non-implementation, HB 2610 clarified the stipulations of HB 1231 and provided for research into conditions other than epilepsy.
CBD oil derived from hemp is 100% legal in all 50 states aka Cannabis legal states as this plant, by definition, never has more than 0.3% THC by weight, but is generally rich in CBD and other cannabinoids.

Will the eligible conditions list ever be updated to include other nerve and muscle conditions. I have fibromyalgia with severe nerve pain from sciatica and trigeminal neuralgia. So tired of taking pills.
