CBD Legal States Policy

Medical Cannabis Policy State by State: Missouri

What is the legal status of cannabis in Missouri?

As one of the stricter states as far as medical cannabis is concerned, Missouri considers all use of cannabis to be illegal.  In January of 2017, however, decriminalization laws went into effect which greatly reduce the sentencing structure for cannabis-related offenses.  Now, possession is considered an infraction rather than a misdemeanor.

There is still much room for improvement.  Patients across the country, whose number is in the tens of millions, have found relief from a plethora of conditions and illnesses with the use of cannabis.  Furthermore, CBD oil derived from industrial hemp is 100% legal in all 50 states, as this plant never has more than trace amounts of THC, but is generally rich in CBD and other cannabinoids. Any changes or updates to medical cannabis policy in Missouri will be posted here ASAP!
